A few weeks ago I had the awesome opportunity to animate a guitar hero prop for the Xbox 360 avatar market place. I really like the fun design of these characters, they have a great sense of charm and fun. I had a blast animating him.

Awesome, love that the camera right foot gets into position before the spin. Good timing and arc on the hand after the first strum. I was thinking the snap should be faster and maybe further exploit a little pop, but then I remembered that XBOX Live has a very specific style and it's an interface so actions are supposed to look smooth on the avatars. Fun shot, great job dude. Did you straight ahead it or step it?
ReplyDeleteThanks man! I always start with blocking in stepped, then move to finessing while adding breakdowns. You are right, I had to follow the xbox avatar style which is more smooth then snappy.
